“It was on the 5th of April 2022 at about 10:00 am while attending lectures, I overheard gunshots around the school premises. It was quite confusing for one never knew where or why it is happening so as to find an escape road.

A few seconds later, the gunshots became intense and as a result of this, many if not all were caught up in the fear of being unsafe so everyone had to look for safe grounds, some running and letting go of their belongings in class, some already feeling weak and carried by friends while another lost consciousness due to the tense environment.

After getting off-campus, getting a taxi was not an easy task as only a few taxis were available at the moment and the taxi fare was as well increased. Luckily for me, I managed to use some shortcuts which I knew” Lee, a University of Bamenda student explains.
