Global North-South exchange
International exchanges between Draufsicht Cameroon and Draufsicht Berlin: Draufsicht Bamenda works directly with youth who are interested in social change and community development. The youths from 15 to 35 years old either in secondary or high, university, self-employed or employed in different areas of work. These young adults are full of potential with different skills.
We engage in producing films around sustainable development goals, community service engagement, public film screenings, and open discussion in communities, empowering peace and environmental clubs in schools, sporting activities to fight against non-communicable diseases, production of radio plays on societal issues, and many more activities. We connect the youths to international opportunities.
We work in conformity to global human rights laws as well as values such as human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, and equity as well as the rule of law. In our work, we support the freedom of thought and openness to challenging and difficult topics.
So far, we have done workshops and training on cross- cultural perspectives to see things through other eyes and this is an essence of our existence as an organization. Our core values of respect for cultures support and make us accommodating to different perspectives in an open manner. Draufsicht works directly with young people from different religions and cultural backgrounds.
The young people are part of the organization on a voluntary basis and decisions are unanimously agreed upon with the opinions of everyone taken into consideration. Draufsicht Global is made up of young adults with different sexual orientations and religious beliefs. There are exchange programs between young people from Germany and Cameroon.
